Best Minecraft settings for PvP on 1.21.1 (Java Edition)
Video, mouse and HUD settings that give steadier frames and cleaner information in Minecraft 1.21.1 PvP.

Good PvP comes down to steady frames, predictable mouse input and a screen that shows what you need. These settings are a starting point for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1. Adjust them to your PC and your taste.
1. Aim for steady frames#
A high, stable frame rate helps more than a high peak. Lower render distance to around 8 to 12 chunks, turn off fancy graphics and reduce particles. The FPS guide covers memory, Java 21 and Fabric performance mods.
2. Use raw mouse input#
In Options, Controls, Mouse Settings, turn on Raw Input so the game reads your mouse directly. Then set sensitivity to something you can repeat, and keep it the same across sessions.
3. Pick a comfortable field of view#
A wider FOV shows more of the fight, and a narrower one makes targets larger. Test a few values and keep the one you aim best with.
4. Limit visual noise#
Turn off clouds, lower biome blend and keep particles minimal, so fast action is easy to read.
5. Build a clean HUD#
Show only what you use. FPS and coordinates are common choices, and too many elements crowd the screen. In FireClient you can drag each HUD element where you want it and keep the rest off. Back up your layout once you are happy.
6. Check your connection and PC#
Close background apps, use a wired connection if you can and check your ping on the server you play on.
7. Follow the server's rules#
Some servers restrict certain client features or mods. Read the rules before you join and use only what is allowed. No setting replaces practice, and these changes just remove avoidable obstacles.
